Service Period Calculation: Next level eligibility is calculated from the ACTUAL promotion date, not the original service eligibility date.
Qualification Upgrade Rules:
- M.Phil candidates who complete Ph.D. within 4 years will be treated as Ph.D. candidates
- NET/SLET candidates who complete Ph.D. within 4 years will be treated as Ph.D. candidates
- Other candidates who complete M.Phil within 5 years will be treated as M.Phil candidates
Basic Information
Level 10 to Level 11
Requirements: Orientation Program + (Refresher Course OR Two alternative courses) + Hindi Exam
Additional Level 10 Courses:
Level 11 to Level 12
Requirements: Two additional courses (2-week courses count as 1, two 1-week courses count as 1)
Level 12 to Level 13A
Requirements: One additional course (2-week courses count as 1, two 1-week courses count as 1) + Ph.D. mandatory

- Two FDPs/Short-term courses of 1 week count as one course
- Hindi Exam (must be passed)
- Minimum 5-6 years of service (depends on qualification)
Level 11 to Level 12
- Two additional courses from: Refresher Courses, Workshops, Syllabus Upgradation, Teaching-Learning-Evaluation, FDP (2 weeks), Short-term Course (2 weeks), MOOCs, etc.
- Two FDPs/Short-term courses of 1 week count as one course
- Minimum 4-5 years of service at Level 11 (from ACTUAL promotion date)
Level 12 to Level 13A
- Ph.D. degree (mandatory)
- One additional course from: Refresher Courses, Workshops, Syllabus Upgradation, Teaching-Learning-Evaluation, FDP (2 weeks), Short-term Course (2 weeks), MOOCs, etc.
- Two FDPs/Short-term courses of 1 week count as one course
